The Alchemist
Since 2004, I’ve made it my life’s work to share my love for art and creativity. As the founder, principal designer, and incurable inventor at Om Tara®, I have come to believe deeply in the power of creativity to heal. It is the key to unlocking our soul’s voice – the healing balm that soothes us and strengthens us in a hectic world. My work, tools, articles, and tutorials have been featured in Step-by-Step Wire Magazine, Bead Style Magazine, Jewelry Stringing Magazine, Belle Armoire Jewelry, Jewelry Affaire Magazine, Rio Grande, Fire Mountain Gems, Jewelry Television, About.com/beading and Handmade Goodness Quarterly.
The Inventor
I invented and patented the Om Tara® Crimping Pliers to make crimping foolproof, so jewelry artists can focus on their designs and put crimping where it belongs – serving as a useful tool in the furthering of creativity just as a paintbrush is to a painter. The Om Tara® Crimping Pliers were imagined out a conversation I had with my father, who is a retired engineer and designer of innovative fishing pliers. With my father’s blessing and guidance, I have become an insatiable inventor, always looking for new ways to make the art of creativity more accessible and joyful for others.
The Teacher
As a former preschool, elementary, and junior high school teacher, I’ve learned so much about the way people approach and learn new information. I also discovered that patience, encouragement, and understanding are all essential to helping bring out the best in a learning exchange. In 2004 I began teaching beading and jewelry arts to adults at our local college. It was there I realized that all learners, regardless of age or experience, want to feel successful, encouraged, and understood. As I continue to teach in private classes and at national bead shows, the skills I learned as an elementary teacher still apply. While most come thinking they’ll learn a new skill, nearly all leave feeling like they’ve found a welcoming community of creative friends.
The Catalyst
I have extensive experience as a clairaudient, clairsentient and clairvoyant vibrational healer, bodyworker, talisman artist, and intuitive. With 30+ years experience, I am studied in alternative healing methods, Eastern and Feminine Spirituality, and the Tarot. I have an MA in Clinical Psychology and a lifelong interest in Divine Feminine Mysteries. Through my healing practice, I developed a Tarot Session called Issue Mapping™, an individualized tarot-based counseling method, and an Energetic Bodywork Session called Auric Repatterning™, a multimodal approach to energy healing, which incorporates sound, stones, energy work, and visualization. I am an ordained Priestess, Creativity Catalyst, and champion of Creativity as a Sacred Path.
